Tate in November

Today at recess Tate said one of the younger girls Elsie asked another boy, Owen, if she could play football with him. Tate heard him tell Elsie "no" so Tate went up to her and said she could play freeze tag with him and Hayden instead. I told him I was so proud of him. He said, "Mommy was I kind of like the Good Samaritan?" I told him he was. He said it made him feel happy inside to be nice to Elsie.

Tate spells to communicate. For example, "M-O-M C-A-N- I- P-L-A-Y M-A-R-I-O?" It cracks me up that he spells everything.

Tate said, "I know why daddy doesn't care if we get hurt and says 'you're okay', its because he is not a nurse like you."

Today Macie had left her Trick or Treat bag with the blinking lights ON. When she found it she was so sad because she was afraid that it would not work for very long tonight when we go to trick or treat. Tate quickly jumped up and said "Macie I don't want you sad, you can have my bag."

Heather was babysitting my kids and all 5 kids were being a little difficult all at once. Heather had said, "You guys are driving me nuts." At lunch time, it was Tate's turn to pray, he said, "Please bless that Macie and Hallie won't drive Heather Bell nuts!"

Bob & Tate were setting up the Nativity tonight. Bob asked Tate if he thought baby Jesus should be on the left or on the right side of the table, so it could look like the wise man were traveling to see Him. Tate responded with, "Dad! Baby Jesus should be in the middle!" So true Tate!

The other day we were talking about TT being on his mission. Tate said, "Why can't he come home yet?!" I explained that he still has about a year and a half to go, because he hasn't found all the people he needs to teach yet. Tate responded with, "Well then, I'm going to be a missionary too just like TT." Then he said, "Do you know what I'm going to do mom?" I said, "What?" He said, "I am going to sing the 'I want to be a missionary now" song every time I go somewhere!" He has kept his word...Last week he sang the song for Miss Jessica at preschool and yesterday he sang it in front of 20 of us at Thanksgiving. He doesn't act nervous at all...just belts it out. I know TT would be so proud of him, if he could see him trying so hard to be a missionary! We are thankful for TT and the good example he is to all of us to be a missionary now!
