Tate in December

While we were driving, Macie was saying, "We need to try to be like Jesus AND Santa." Tate responded with, "MACIE, we shouldn't be like SANTA, he doesn't eat power foods, he only eats cookies and milk." ( I've taught the kids that fruits and veggies are power foods).

Macie has made great progress in preschool over the last few months. I was asking Tate, over lunch, how she got so smart. He said, "Leapfrog letter factory, Miss Jessica and me, worked together to make Macie smart!"

Tate spent the night at Ammy's house so he got to go to church with them. Aunt Brittany is the primary teacher for his age group. I guess 2 of the boys were arguing and one boys said to the other, "No one in the world cares!" Tate heard this and quickly interrupted this boy by saying, "That's not true! I pray for everybody in the world every night. People in the world DO care!"

Because I lost the majority of my voice today, I have relied on Tate to mainly be the one to communicate with Macie. On the way to preschool, she wasn't listening to what he was trying to tell her and was being sassy to him so he said, "Macie! Don't talk to me in that stern voice!"

I'm not sure what brought on this conversation, but I heard the tale end of it. Tate said to Macie, "Macie, we are not on this earth to just have fun. We are here to show Heavenly Father we can be like Jesus."

Tonight my mom is babysitting Ty and Macie while we take Tate to the Forgotten Carols. I just said to him, "Tate, you need to take a nap today since we are staying up late; if you don't, you are going to have to stay home with grandma." He paused for a minute and then sincerely said, "I can't decide if I'd rather go to the show or stay home with grandma!" Note to self: Staying home with grandma is not considered a punishment.
